CHEMICAL AND INDUSTRIAL PROCESS CAREER COMPETITION

Challenge yourself. Collaborate. Create solutions.

Would you like to take part in a team challenge, work on a real case, and enjoy an immersive experience?

Chemical and Industrial Process Career Competition is the right opportunity to test your skills, develop your soft skills, and exchange ideas with other students on a current and strategic topic: innovation in chemical and industrial processes.

How does it work?

You will be placed in a multidisciplinary team together with students from other degree programmes. The Career Service will present you with a concrete challenge related to the world of chemical and industrial processes, to be solved in just a few hours with your group.

The challenge may focus on topics such as the optimisation of production processes, industrial sustainability, resource efficiency, safety, technological innovation, and the management of complex systems in real contexts.

To support you, several companies will share real projects and innovative insights, offering inspiration and a direct view of the world of work.

What can you expect?

·       A task to be solved in a team within a set time

·       The opportunity to listen to and interact with company professionals

·       The chance to present your work in front of a jury of experts

·       Personalised feedback to help you grow and improve

·       A final certificate of participation to add to your CV

The task proposed during the Career Competition will be developed by Prof. Marco Derudi, Associate Professor at the Department of Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering “Giulio Natta” of Politecnico di Milano, to provide participants with a challenge aligned with the skills and real-world issues of the sector.

Participation criteria

·       Be students or graduates in Design & Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology, Management Engineering, Industrial Safety and Risk Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Industrial Production Engineering, Food Engineering, Environmental and Land Planning Engineering;

·       Registration order: the first 50 students registered for the event will be able to participate.

How to participate

To take part in the event, you must register on this page. During registration, you will be asked a few preliminary questions to allow the Career Service staff to divide participants into heterogeneous teams.

If you would like to involve one of your classmates, you will be able to indicate this in the preliminary questions.

After registration closes, students will be contacted by email by the Career Service to receive confirmation of participation, instructions on how to take part in the challenge, and the team to which they have been assigned.

The event will be held primarily in Italian. To encourage the participation of international students, company representatives’ presentations and slides will be in English; during the group work, each team will be free to choose the language they prefer to use.

Please note: the event is part of the Career Service Award.
