Sintropy.ai is a Milan-based startup making buildings more efficient through data and artificial intelligence.

We install plug-and-play IoT sensors on electrical panels, HVAC systems, and throughout building environments. We then connect them to our software platform, which monitors energy consumption in real time and automatically manages building systems.

We work with retail chains, restaurants, healthcare facilities, and industrial companies, from individual locations to networks of hundreds of sites. Our customers include major Italian and international groups.

1. IoT Integration Engineer – Intern

Type: Internship (curricular or extracurricular), 6 months

You will join the technical team at Sintropy.ai and, supported by a dedicated mentor, learn how to take data from a field sensor all the way to the platform that turns it into actionable decisions. This is a hands-on training experience based on real projects, designed for students nearing graduation or recent graduates.

What you will do

• Support the team in integrating IoT sensors (energy, temperature, air quality) with the cloud platform
• Prepare and test devices in the laboratory before installation
• Write scripts to collect, validate, and visualize the data gathered
• Use AI-powered development tools to build small prototypes and automations
• Participate, together with the team, in installations and commissioning activities at customer sites

What we are looking for

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree currently in progress, or completed within the last 12 months, in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field
• Basic programming skills (Python, JavaScript, or similar)
• An interest in hardware, demonstrated through university projects, personal projects, or student teams
• Curiosity, willingness to learn, and a hands-on approach to experimentation

2. Junior IoT Integration Engineer

Type: Apprenticeship contract or permanent full-time position

You will join the technical team at Sintropy.ai with direct responsibility for selected integrations. You will follow projects from technical analysis through to commissioning at the customer site and act as the technical point of reference for the activities assigned to you.

What you will do

• Independently design and implement the integration of IoT sensors and devices with the cloud platform
• Connect Building Management Systems (BMS) and HVAC systems from major manufacturers using APIs and field protocols (MQTT, Modbus, REST)
• Develop and maintain services for data acquisition, cleaning, and analysis
• Manage installations and commissioning activities at customer sites, coordinating with installers and plant technicians
• Contribute to the selection of technical tools and solutions, using AI to accelerate development

What we are looking for

• Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field
• 0–2 years of experience (including internships or company-based thesis projects) in IoT, embedded systems, or hardware/software integration
• Good proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, JavaScript, or similar)
• Hands-on experience with microcontrollers, communication protocols, and wiring
• Ability to manage activities independently and communicate effectively with customers
