Proxima Fusion is Europe’s fastest-growing and best-funded fusion company, with over €650 million in public and private funding. Founded in 2023 as the first spin-out from the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics, we are building the first generation of stellarator fusion power plants. Our mission is to bring abundant, reliable and clean energy to the grid. We’re building the industry needed to make that happen: developing critical hardware, establishing manufacturing capabilities and creating a supply chain for fusion in Europe. From superconducting magnets and specialist components to procurement, logistics and plant infrastructure, our work brings together the capabilities needed to deliver commercial fusion power plants. With teams in Munich, Zurich and Oxford, we bring together people from automotive, aerospace, energy and many other sectors. We’re growing across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and business operations, creating opportunities for people with different backgrounds to take ownership and help build a new energy industry in Europe.
