Startup Bootcamp

Startup Bootcamp is a short training program aimed at female and male students and PhD candidates who want to develop awareness and acquire initial skills in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship. The program provides an overview of the challenges and opportunities of the startup world, offering practical tools on intellectual property, market strategies, business model validation, and the management of dynamics typical of an innovative ecosystem (including failure management).

 

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the role of innovation and the complexity of the startup context.
  • Learn the fundamentals of intellectual property protection and technology transfer.
  • Become familiar with the legal and financial tools needed to launch and grow a startup (contracts, fundraising, valuation, etc.).
  • Learn go-to-market strategies and business model validation tools (lean startup approach).
  • Develop an entrepreneurial mindset, with particular attention to failure management and sustainability.

Who is the Innovator?

Listen to participants from the first edition of the Startup Bootcamp, held in 2023. Each year, 5–6 editions take place, with 50 participants per edition. Access to the bootcamp is subject to completing the Innovator Interview.

Bootcamp Program

15 hours over 5 weeks to explore the strategies and skills needed to become a startupper and/or to patent an idea.

 

Topics covered:

  1. Innovation and its complexity: future technologies and new directions
  2. Valorization tools and strategy
  3. Market strategy and team dynamics
  4. Innovation value
  5. Challenges for a successful startup

 

Participation in at least 80% of the program guarantees the acquisition of the Polimi Startup Bootcamp digital badge.
