Building Careers Beyond Academia: PhD & Postdoc Stories is the round table of the Beyond Academia Career Day, dedicated to PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers and recent PhD graduates interested in exploring career paths beyond academia.

 

During the session, PhD and postdoctoral Alumni from Politecnico di Milano who have pursued careers in companies, research centers and other professional contexts will share their experiences and the paths that led them from academia to new career opportunities.

 

The session will offer participants the opportunity to hear different career stories, choices and transitions, understand how to value their research profile in non-academic contexts, and gather useful insights to navigate the job market.

 

Speakers currently confirmed for the round table include:

 

• Andrea Taverna, Service Designer, Logotel – PhD in Service Design
• Antonella Di Trapani, Senior Research Fellow, United Nations University – Postdoc in Chemistry
• Representatives from STMicroelectronics and Pirelli, with PhD backgrounds, who will share the perspective of organizations active in technology, industry and innovation - Speaker names will be published progressively.

The seminar is open to PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers and recent PhD graduates from Politecnico di Milano who are interested in exploring career opportunities beyond academia.
