About us

Open Borders Institute (OBI) is a nonprofit organization advancing inclusive development, cross-border cooperation, and innovation across Europe, the Eastern Partnership region, and the MENA region. Founded in 2016 and anchored in Armenia, OBI designs and implements projects that promote women's empowerment, technology and AI capacity-building, digital transformation, economic participation, and institutional resilience. Through partnerships with the European Union, EU Member States, international organizations, and development partners, OBI delivers impactful initiatives that connect policy, technology, and sustainable development. We offer students and young professionals the opportunity to contribute to international projects in a dynamic, startup-like environment, gaining hands-on experience in research, policy analysis, project management, stakeholder engagement, and the application of digital technologies and AI for social impact.
