How to activate an internship

Have you already found a host organization? You can submit the internship activation request online!

Before you begin, here are some useful things to know:

  • Does your degree program include a compulsory curricular internship to earn credits (CFU)? Make sure to add it to your study plan before starting and remember: you’ll need approval from your Academic Supervisor.
  • Do you want to complete an internship for personal experience? You can activate an non compulsory curricular internship, which must be completed before you graduate.
  • If you wish to undertake an internship aimed at the development of your thesis, before agreeing on the details with the host organization, you must identify a professor willing to act as your Thesis Supervisor, who will also act as your internship Academic Supervisor.
  • For international internships, activation takes place using the standard Internship Agreement provided by Politecnico di Milano. The process is online and the internship can start within 5–10 days. In case the foreign host organization does not want to follow our online activation process and propose a local internship contract based on their country’s regulations, inform us in advance and do not go abroad before receiving our confirmation.

You can go through the process in a meeting with an Internship Advisor.
