Types of Internships

How to activate an internship?

  1. Matching between Intern and Host Organization
    1. Matching

    The Host Organization selects the intern by posting an offer on the Career Service portal or by receiving an application through other channels. The candidate is usually chosen after an interview

  2. University–Organization Agreement
    2. Internship Agreement

    Before the internship can be activated, the Host Organization must have an active agreement with the Politecnico di Milano. The agreement is completed online, defines the mutual rights and responsibilities and remains valid for future collaborations. It becomes active within 5 working days from signing.

  3. Internship Request
    3. Activation request

    The activation request can be submitted online either by the Intern or the Host Organization. All required information must be completed to start the procedure.

  4. Is it a mandatory curricular internship?
    4. Academic Tutor Approval

    If the internship is a mandatory curricular internship, approval from an Academic Tutor is required.

  5. Receive the Internship Document
    5. Internship Document

    The Academic Internship Structure (SAT) or the Career Service verifies the information submitted and sends an email to both the intern and the organization with the link to view the Internship Document

  6. Signature collection
    6. Signed Internship Document

    Both the Intern and the Host Organization must sign the Document via the portal. The organization signs digitally, while the intern signs with a simple click.

  7. Internship Start Confirmation
    7. The Internship can begin

    The intern and the host organization receive a notification confirming the internship activation, and the countersigned Internship Document is available in the portal.
