With over a century of history in the country (Nokia’s roots in Italy date back to 1909), the company has contributed to the development of the main Italian communication infrastructures. The offices in Vimercate, Rome, Battipaglia, and Trieste host research, design, sales, installation, and maintenance activities for both fixed and mobile access and transport networks, in addition to the development of applications and network solutions. Italy represents a strategic hub for Nokia, and in particular, the R&D laboratories in Vimercate specialize in optical transport networks and microwave radio links, where innovative technologies for global markets are developed.
