Through an agreement with the Region of Lombardy– Education Training and Employment Section, the Politecnico di Milano and Italia Lavoro, a technical agency of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies, are launching an experimental programme entitled “2011-2014 Apprenticeship Degree and Specialist Degree in higher learning and research.”
Apprenticeship-degree is an open-ended employment contract aimed at training and employing young people. It is a “mixed contract” whereby the employer is required to provide the trainee remuneration for the work performed as well as professional training. In return for this commitment, companies can take advantage of tax benefits and flexible remuneration management.
Introduced by Law no. 25/1955, study-internship contracts have undergone various changes over the years. Currently, they are governed under Legislative Decree no. 167/2011 “Consolidated Law on Study-Internship.”
Apprenticeship-degree contracts can be used in any professional and productive sector (excluding the public administration) by companies headquartered in Lombardy.
